Age Requirements
Alaska Airlines accepts unaccompanied minors under the following guidelines:
- Ages 5-7: Must use UM service on nonstop flights only
- Ages 8-12: UM service required on all flights
- Ages 13-17: UM service is optional but recommended
- Children under 5 cannot travel as unaccompanied minors
Unaccompanied Minor Fees
Alaska Airlines charges a fee for unaccompanied minor service:
- $50 per child, each way for nonstop flights
- Fee covers supervision and escort services
- Fee applies per child (not per booking)
How to Book
To book an unaccompanied minor on Alaska Airlines:

- UM service cannot be booked online
- Provide complete contact information for both pickup and drop-off adults
- Adults must present valid photo ID at check-in and pickup
